Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve, surrounded by Argonne National Laboratory, is one of the most diverse and scenic forest preserves in DuPage County.
Spring and fall are excellent times to view significant numbers of migrant songbirds, especially along Sawmill Creek.
The Des Plaines River runs along the south border, and the associated bottomland forest may host breeding Barred Owls and Prothonotary Warblers.
A 9.5-mile crushed limestone, multipurpose trail encircles the preserve.
